CANDLE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

TO AVOID FIRE HAZARDS, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WHEN BURNING CANDLES:

  • Before lighting, remove all packaging. If the candle comes with usage instructions (including symbols), read and follow them carefully. Never burn the candle longer than recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Always place candles on a non-flammable surface.
  • Never place candles near heat sources such as TVs, radiators, stoves, or fireplaces.
  • Make sure candles are positioned stably and cannot tip over.
  • Candle holders must be stable and suitable for the candle’s size and shape. They should be heat-resistant and large enough to collect melted wax and drips.
  • Do not place candles near fabrics, curtains, bedding, furniture, carpets, books, paper, or flammable decorations.
  • Avoid drafts in the room where candles are burning. Protect burning candles from ceiling fans, air currents, or open windows. Drafts can cause uneven burning, excessive flame flickering, or blow lightweight objects (like curtains or papers) into the flame.
  • Remember that a burning candle produces not only light but also high heat. Ensure it is kept at a safe distance from flammable items. Be especially careful with large decorative candles, as they can heat table surfaces significantly.
  • Regularly trim the wick. Do not allow wick trimmings, matches, or other debris to fall into the melted wax, as this may cause a fire.
  • Never leave burning candles unattended — not even for a moment.
  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Do not place lit candles where they could be knocked over by children, pets, or others.
  • Be careful not to touch the flame with clothing or hair.
  • Never burn outdoor candles indoors.
  • Extinguish the candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly, or the flame becomes too high. This indicates improper burning. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and relight.
  • Always use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame — never use water. Water can cause hot wax splattering and may break glass holders.
  • Before leaving or going to sleep, make sure the candle is completely extinguished and the wick is no longer glowing.
  • Do not let the flame come into direct contact with decorative elements, holders, or glass, as they may crack.
  • Be extra cautious with decorative candles containing elements such as leaves or flowers. These candles may be intended purely for decoration, not for burning. Their internal decorations can catch fire and create an unusually high flame.
CANDLE USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Always leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between burning candles.
  • Wax spillage is possible — always place candles on a heat-resistant, deep tray or dish.
  • During the first burn, allow the candle to burn for at least 3–4 hours until a full melt pool forms to prevent tunneling.
  • Trim the wick to about 0.5–1 cm before each use.
  • Always use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame — do not blow it out.
  • If you notice smoke or soot, extinguish the candle and trim the wick.
  • Stop using the candle when about 0.5 to 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom.
